Accreditation
In general there are two types of CPD activities offered at the school of nursing and midwifery; credit and non-credit courses.
Credit courses are those that attract credit towards our postgraduate programs (eg graduate certificate and masters degree). These courses have met the University of Queensland’s standards for award courses and would usually include formal assessment. Many of these courses are endorsed by the Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA) and do attract CPD points towards mandatory continuing professional education.
Non-credit coursesare those that are largely for members of the profession to enhance their existing knowledge and skills or to develop new knowledge and skills. While these courses are reflective of the University of Queensland’s high quality courses, they do not attract credit into award programs. Many of these courses are endorsed by the Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA) and do attract CPD points towards mandatory continuing professional education.
Most of the CPD courses offered by the School of Nursing and Midwifery are endorsed by the Royal College of Nursing, Australia (RCNA) and attract Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points towards your mandatory CPD education.
