Liz  joined the University in March 2010. Initially working in an administrative role, she moved into her current role as Clinical Technician in September 2010.

Liz has had an interesting last few years where she has worked as a registered nurse, a legal secretary, an administrative officer, and now in her current role as Clinical Technician for the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

Liz enjoys her role as Clinical Technician very much and is looking forward to a long future with the University. Liz is excited about the development and growth of the School.

Whilst managing the UQ clinical skills labs across the Ipswich and Brisbane clinical school sites, during the last two years Liz has also had the opportunity to go on the UQ Nursing and Midwifery Community Health Placement in Cambodia. Liz feels incredibly honored to have been a part of the trip and looks forward to joining the students again.

In addition to her full time role, Liz continues to work clinically in a casual position at the Mater Children’s Hospital, generally working on the medical and surgical wards. With an opportunity to expand her skills opening this year, Liz will also work in recovery at the Mater Mothers Hospital.

One a personal note, Liz became engaged to her partner Steve in March 2011. They are enjoying the wedding planning process and are very excited to be getting married in Brisbane at the end of June 2012. They are also very much looking forward to their honeymoon overseas where they plan to spend some time with Steve’s family, and then embark on a spectacular 12 day Mediterranean cruise.

They are very much looking forward to their exciting future together.
