UQ School of Nursing and Midwifery Director of Research Associate Professor Fiona Bogossian

UQ is the highest ranked university for nursing research in Queensland and received the highest possible in Australia!

The Excellence in Research Australia 2012 rankings were released in early December 2012 and as a school we should be very proud that in the Field of Research FOR Nursing - the University of Queensland was awarded a ranking of 5 “well above world standard” and the highest rank possible. Only seven Australian universities were awarded this ranking.

This achievement is a credit to the efforts of all staff (including those who are active researchers, and those who support research active staff and/or RHD scholars) in increasing research output and diligence in capturing that data. An achievement made all the more impressive by the fact that we are less than 10 years old, have one full professor and the data collection period 2005 -2010 included the formative years of the School. The school is indebted to Prof Andy Creswell and Prof Greg Monteith for their support and efforts in the ERA exercise in 2010 and 2012.
